Lord Bless Me…

So I will bring joy and not pain…
So I will do your will amidst the heartache and the shame…

When the sun is out, or when the weather is not quite favourable to me…
Cause me to see that even in my dislikes you are bringing your purpose out of me…

Lord Bless Me…

So I will not be a curse…
So I won’t settle for last, when you have called me to be first…

When the issues of the day become overwhelming…
The voices around me are everything except encouraging…

Lord Bless Me…

May I understand that frequent rejections
May be your way of saying change the plan and change direction

Lord Bless Me…

Let me claim all the promises you have made
So I will experience you more and more each day

Lord I ask you now to bless me

Called to Love

I have been treated badly in recent times by persons who really should be the 'keepers of my soul' and people who claim that they 'love' me. On more than one occasion I was tempted to reciprocate the treatment. It takes great strength to love and restrain oneself, especially when you know you are not deserving of the ill treatment. The bible reminds us that we ought to ,"...Love our enemies, bless them that curse us, do good to them that hate us, and pray for them which despitefully use us and persecute us;" -St. Matt. 5:44 God expects that even when others are 'deserving' of our bad treatment and have fully earned the right to be 'hated', that we will love them and love them without discrimination. Think about it, it is so difficult to even forgive and love those we call friends whenever they hurt us, more so an enemy. 31 Days of Prayers for Children: Day 11

DAY 11  (I am stressed out) Jesus, it's almost frightening to hear a little ten-year-old girl crying just how much she is stressed out. Deliver our children from their emotional and mental stresses and give them the strength and stamina to grow from each difficult.  The Child's Prayer:  I refuse to be stressed and I embrace my blessing today. Amen. Notes to Parents:   Don't underestimate the fact that your child could be a carrier of stress.  In times of adversity and turmoil, stress evokes strong emotions and causes uncertainty in all of us. As parents, we are in the best position to help our children.
